BIOGRAPHY

The Addication is a heavy metal band from Southern Finland, with influences from trash metal. It was formed by guitarist and songwriter Hank Newman with singer Kenny Jones in 2009.


First The Addication was ment to be just Hank's solo project. March 20th 2010 they released their first promo cd, called "The Addication". Promo contains five melodic metal songs written by Hank and Kenny. Drums on the promo were played by Arnold Hackman (a.k.a. Aki Kuokkanen), as a session drummer.


Soon after the first promo was released Hank and Kenny started to write some new material. But this time they wanted to do something different. First promo was very melodic and there were lot of keyboards in the songs. But one song on the promo called "The Rust" was a little bit different. No keyboards, tight and heavy guitar riffs, and some trash metal influences. And that was the new style Hank and Kenny wanted to do.


The vision of "new" The Addication was now clear, so this time Hank and Kenny wanted The Addication to be a band rather than project. So they asked Arnold Hackman to join The Addication for real, and after Hackman heard the new material, he joined the band.


This time Hank wanted to add some new perspective to their songs. So he called trash metal guitarist Hector Jimenez (a.k.a. Heikki Tolonen). Hector has a long history with trash and power metal, so Hank thought that he would be the perfect man to the band. After Hank played some new songs to Hector, he was very excited to join the band.


Now in 2011 it was time to record a new promo, which would introduce band's new style. July 5th 2011 they released a promo called "Burned Down". Promo contains three heavy metal songs with trash influences. All songs were written by The Addication as a band. Bass tracks were played by Hank.


At this time The Addication did not have a bass player, so they started to look for a talented bass player with attitude and skills.
After several candidates they chose mr. Marc F to be their bass player
Marc is a multitalented musician with long career as a bass player, and he can also sing backing vocals.
So now The Addication was ready to take over the world.
